I got a rescue animal that tries to protect me all the time agInst my mother (who hasn’t done anything) he bites at her while growling and jumps at her with his back up to me and arms up when she talks or laughs or walks into the room. He runs in circles around me or lays on me growling at her if I am watching tv. He licks me and wines at me and lays his head on me inbetween these outburts. My parents have mentioned getting him put down. Is there anything I can do? What’s weird is I havnt really ever connected with this dog by petting him or taking to him or anything like that… It all seems so bizzare.
Has the dog ever actually bitten someone? Am kinda inclined to say if a dog bites just once it can’t ever be fully trusted.

Bad habits are hard to break, whether you’re a dog or a human.

My mom said he gets close but hasn’t actually bitten her yet. It sure looks like he does sometimes I guess he didn’t follow through.
Dogs do that! Please don’t let him be put down because of that! Get him a chewing toy.
He just needs time to adjust to the new family, i doubt he’ll ever attack one of you
