Talked to my son today. Stepmom says Sam never sleeps. I’ve been wondering why every time I call him he sounds tired. I know he’s on adhd meds. I remember when my daughter was on Concerta she didn’t sleep either. If I talked to K about changing Sam’s meds he won’t listen to me. Those drugs are stimulants. Does anyone know of a non stimulant drug for adhd. I had to eventually take my daughter off her meds bc of it.
There aren’t, best not to give any kind medication to a child that has not reached at least 16 years of old. IMO most adhd cases are misdiagnosed as almost every second child nowadays can be diagnosed with it…

My son’s dad has custody of him so what he says goes. I have no say. I know he’s on meds for adhd. My daughter like I said went through the same thing where she didn’t sleep and was exhausted all the time. I know stepmom and dad won’t listen. If it were me I’d take him off the meds.
Probably the kid is annoying them that’s why they put him on meds…

Maybe I should say something to K about it. He won’t listen though. Yeah. Stepmom said Sam’s going back to school tomorrow and K said,”We’re going to have a party!” I thought thats a hurtful thing to say in front of a kid. I know K and he’s a really good natured kind person but he shouldn’t say things like that. Trust me my daughter was a challenge but I never said stuff like that where she could hear.

That won’t hurt him though right? Bc his blood pressure is healthy
It’s up to his doctor to make that call. My kid is on it, and he gets cold a lot. We are lowering his meds slowly because his last home had him on extremely high doses.
