My mom used to have us sit in the front row so we could run around before and after the movie.
My daughter was a wild cat. So much energy. She used to run around while church was going on. I was too stupid back then to realize that it was rude to let my daughter run around church during service. The preacher had to tell me to get my daughter. Oh well. My kid has adhd so…
Before the pandemic, most movie theaters had a sensory friendly day once a month. They would play the movie on a lower volume, leave the lights on low, people could bring their own snacks, and nobody would get yelled at for talking or moving around. I really liked it.
Wow, that’s really cool. Never heard of such a thing. That’s good business, and a good way to lay down roots with the local population. There are days I could benefit from that too.
They’re always G or PG movies, because their main target is autistic kids. But I really like it for me because movie theaters always trigger a migraine for me.

I stand corrected. They have films for adults wednesday evenings!
Ha, that’s cool, my local AMC has Godzilla Vs Kong. I’ve seen it, but I wouldn’t think it’d be on the list. Lots of fast cuts and explosions and demolition. It’s super cool they’re making an effort. Their whole business model is reeling right now.

Here is the info for Regal sensory friendly films. Looks like they still only do family friendly movies.
I still run up and down the aisles of the movie theater.
In evangelical churches, they have “aisle runners;” people so infused with religion they get out of their chair and yell, while running up and down the aisle, sometimes hitting people over the head in the process. I’m dead serious.
Hmmm, maybe I’m Evangelical.
I always thought I was Unitarian.
Crap like that is why I stopped going to theatres over a decade ago.
Other people. Ick.
I’ve seen such things personally. I believe you.
yeah, we used to have Brew and View here, saw a great one with my kids on Winged Migration, but we just got a smoothie, and split it.
I don’t like all the demolitions and explosions in American movies. Thats why I watch all foreign films on Netflix. They’re so much better anyway.
