No meat lately, don't know when I will

My sister played a documentary on the vegan lifestyle and I was disgusted by the whole meat industry. I haven’t had any meat since then. It’s been a week or so. I wonder when I’ll eat meat again. I really haven’t missed it. But I have had dairy so I doubt I could become vegan. Maybe vegetarian. Yesterday we had tomatoes and cucumbers with herbs and watermelon for desert. Tonight I’m making lentil tacos with cole slaw. I like beans and vegetables so I’m pretty happy.

I just recently became vegetarian. I don’t miss meat yet. I did it to lose weight though. Not bc I saw anything online. There’s lots of things to eat.

cool, maybe I’ll lose weight too. That’s a big goal for me coming up soon when I finish doing the nicotine patches here in a few days.

I went full vegan yesterday, but I’m jonesing for that one last fast food meal.

So close to buying some taquitos from the corner store.

The temptation will end, I just have to be strong to it.

I’m working up to becoming vegan, the thing that’s hardest to give up is eggs. I’m keeping those for the time being. I got some really nice vegan burgers from the shop I work at.

I sometimes think plant protein is easier to digest than animal protein. I still eat meat, though. I like it too much.

My food routine includes large quantity of vegetables and very little meat. I also eat eggs and milk. I think this food combination is healthy for me.

I’ve given up meat for the time being too, though my dumb self recently bought some cups of instant ramen with vegetables thinking that the declaration of their being meat-FLAVORED on the label actually meant the flavoring was artificial. How wrong I was.

I haven’t gone vegetarian. But I don’t eat fast food except on my son’s birthday we have red lobster. I know it cost a lot but it’s his birthday and I don’t buy him birthday present. So it’s kind of become our thing and he looks forward to it every year. The only meat I eat is fresh from outdoors. Like fish and turkey and vension. Sometimes buffalo.

I only eat chicken, pork, turkey, and fish. I have an allergy to beef, so I haven’t had steak since 1990 when I was 5. Sometimes i watch my food porn (hell’s kitchen, chopped, anything like that hat) and go damn, could i suffer the physical pain for days if i were to eat that steak? Oh, i envy steak so i settle for thick cut pork chops. I cook them to 165F internally, but they’re still kinda bloody, so that’s how I eat them with bbq sauce. I cook the rest of the family’s well done, but they know my plate is the one tucked away. If I buy the family steak it’s the bargain bin, which yeah I may have to go thru with a fine tooth comb, but steak for 3.99 a pound, I have nothing better to do. Oh I was so mad, Piggly wiggly in the next city accidentally ordered 3 trucks of bone steaks on a friday night, and they marked them down to 2 pack of steaks at $1.99 a pound. Well, I’m on bedrest, but none of my friends thought to ask me if I wanted any. They just bragged about filling theirchesy freezersfor 200 bucks. Ugh! My daughter was sad, she’s like “I woulda rode my bike t ok Beloit.” And I laughed, she’12, and Beloit is 25 miles away, and all she had to carry was a camping backpack. But that’s my girl always trying ggv yo get a deal like her mama. Girl can coupon like nobody’s business too.

you can do it, I’m really feeling better since not eating meat. Loads more energy.

I was vegan before. The recipes I made were expensive but they were really good. To save money on groceries I started eating what everyone else is eating. My daughter became vegan about 9 months ago and she likes being on that diet. She has to contribute to the cost though because I can’t afford it. If you’re ready to really splurge, there’s an amazing vegan restaurant about 20 minutes from me that’s really good but really expensive.

milk is fine in my opinion, its the pain caused to the animal thats the issue IMO. Nothing wrong with milking a cow in fact i wouldnt be surprised if its beneficial to them.

I’m not sure how the cows are treated, but I do use milk and other dairy products daily. I could never go vegan because of this. I don’t think I could give up milk. I have to think about it.

I could never go vegan cos I’m scared of certain nutrition deficiency in particular b12… Deficiency in that has lead some people to actually go psychotic even… And plus it can lead to irreversible nerve damage

milk is really great. i wouldnt worry about the label of “vegan” or whatever, just eat or dont eat what you feel is best. I was actually able to swap out milk for soy milk. its a great replacement (dont use almond milk because it has not enough protein (1g in almond vs 8 in soymilk and 8 in regular milk)

Way to go!

Its taken me since January to go completely vegan with commitment and no desire to even touch a biscuit

Crisps and salty stuff were reccommended for me with blood pressure being a bit low but it helps me to have salt sometimes

Go easy on yourself and look at Greta Thunberg Fridays For Future for more ammo against the industry

also - the industry is carnage on such a mass delusional scale it’s unbelievable it’s like society has us all brainwashed

and it’s also as good to the environment to quit animal products - as much as not giving up your car

sorry - rant not quite finished

it’s really extreme how innocent a biscuit looks and tastes

it’s good to be part of the struggle though
it’s not the most satisfying diet
gotta stock up on all sorts of substitutes
nutritional yeast seems to stop me wanting dairy (it’s a healthy yeast not unhealthy -there is a difference for some reason)
