No longer a civilised country

Given systematic abuses of the disabled the UK can no longer be called a civilised country.

Anything specific brought this up?

The fact I’m due to lose over £40 a week in benefits when I move from Essex to Wiltshire and into a universal credit area. Coupled with a previous drop in income due to switch from DLA to PIP that will have meant a loss of over £90 a week.

Sorry to hear that man. If that can be of any comfort to you, please know that disability in my country is under 100 euros a month, and one must pass a yearly re-evaluation in order to be able to keep the benefits. One must be really wacko, or out of touch with really, or severely physically handicapped, in order to have a guaranteed social aid for life… and even that aid doesn’t amount to much.

I’m sorry @firemonkey

i wonder if the uk makes the same presumtions as the us does?

Here some disabled can not get but like 750. dollars per month no matter where they live. The rent in a lot of places is higher than an entire monthly disabily check. I think the us presumes they will always live with family and rent a room? Itis certainly not enough for them to live off of.

@firemonkey
I feel bad about my situation in Israel, I don’t collect disability benefits or get anything from the state,
but it is not because these benefits don’t exist.
I am in such a predicament because I struggle to claim benefits myself, and my parents don’t help me claim
them, but the bottom line is I am stuck with nothing.
I DON’T EVEN GET TO SEE A PSYCHIATRIST REGULARLY.
