I have not smoked in five or more years, maybe in 10 years, but now I have discovered that nicotine pouches or bags are helpful, they make these also in Iceland and Sweden. I have been improving my Russian a lot. I have an old Russian-English book from 1967 published in Moscow.
I used nicotine gums many years ago, this made a few fillings of mine fall off, I have now much newer and more advanced fillings, not those from the 1980’s. An additional benefit from nicotine gum.
Hey @mjseu! Welcome back, I haven’t seen you around.
I used nicotine pouches when I stopped using snus.
I still crave tobacco though. It’s been more than a year since I quit.
I used nicotine lozenges, 4mg, I suck on them throughout the day.
I still smoke cigarette/roll-ups, but the lozenges make me feel better than a cigarette, so I use both for a good strength of nicotine in my blood.
Nicotine by itself is not addictive, and the nicotine doesn’t cause cancer, it’s the other stuff in cigarettes that do.
I love my nicotine lozenges lol
@Green nicotine itself is extremely addictive. Its why its hard to give up cigarettes. And why its still really hard to give up nicotine lozenges and gum etc. Its a similar level of addictiveness as heroin supposedly.
I heard nicotine is not as addictive as cigarette smoking. It’s is addictive but not as much
Yeah cigarettes are more difficult to quit due to other additives and the fun of it. But still, nicotine itself is super addictive. For example i quit ciggies for a while and switched purely to nicotine gum or lozenges at times. Then when i have tried to quit the gum/lozenges, i get really bad withdrawals like anger, anxiety, brain fog, sadness etc. But yeah way better to use those rather than cigarettes of course.
I found this about nicotine lozenges. Their saying the public are wrong about nicotine, whereas nicotine by itself is no harmful than caffeine.
The lozenges are helping me cut down on smoking now, and also help if I’m bored. Usually if I’m bored cigarettes don’t help, but the nicotine lozenges for some reason do help. They raise my mood, and I’m getting better lap times on racing games on PlayStation.
Yeah i agree for sure. Nicotine itself isnt harmful as long as you keep using it often and dont allow yourself to go without it for too long and start having withdrawals. But you arent harmed by the withdrawals. It just stresses you out and causes emotional stuff.
They say nic may even help stave off alzheimers (not sure how to spell that lol) among other benefits.
I also read nicotine helps fight Covid 19 back in the day
Funny thing is I don’t really get withdrawals from the lozenges, I can easily go without them without any Physical symptoms, unlike a cigarette.
Sometimes I leave the lozenges for half a day without another one, but don’t notice much. Hmm don’t know
I’ve been on the lozenges for 2 weeks. I enjoy smoking and the lozenges help me cut down, so I’ll stick with it
