Hmmm. I just saw the trailer. Can’t discuss it much here, anyway. The trailer quotes a book that many accounts here indicate is triggering to them.
You know how there’s defamation laws; they should do something about mental health defamation - idk who but someone should make a case
I did some research, and Nicolas Cage’s mother, Joy Vogelsang, never murdered anyone. In fact, she never broke the law–she didn’t even have a jaywalking ticket.
Cage said his mother taught him affection.
I guess portraying his mother, who was a dancer, and did have schizophrenia, and never broke the law, and taught Cage affection, doesn’t make for a good movie.
Nicolas Cage chose to make his character with schizophrenia into a serial killer instead of a tormented soul who never broke the law. It’s a juicier role. It’s better for his career.
What would his mother say?
Oh well. Even if critics like it, that doesn’t mean it will influence audiences well. “Star Wars: The Acolyte” seems to have an 85% critic score and a much lower 14% audience score (on Rotten Tomatoes) so far, for example.
These are the reasons…
Maybe one day someone will shed a new light of truth.
