NHS ‘soup and shake’ diet puts almost a third of type 2 diabetes cases in remission

It would be interesting to see how many of the participants either regained weight or experienced high blood sugars again and what kind of timeline that might involve. It’s pretty cool that the UK cares enough about its residents that it sponsors this type of interventional resource…i don’t see the US government putting these kind of resources to work for the betterment of its citizens.

I think the injection is for type 1

Type 2 has insulin injections too.

Edit: Type 1 is where the body’s immune system attacks the insulin producing cells, and type 2 is where the cells become resistant or produce less.

So both require insulin to lower overall blood glucose levels.

if they rise to high. I think type 1 can become hypoglycemic too. Not sure.

800 calories a day. That’s sustainable.

That’s like the kcal from one meal alone. Why don’t people with type 2 diabetes just exercise more instead? I bet it would have the same outcome.
