I have been on this med. It made me gain 45 pounds but it’s very good to sleep.
30 mg, thats kinda overkill. 10-15mg is usually therapeutic range.
I’m on zyprexa but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, because of the weight gain and risk of diabetes.
I’m one of the lucky ones that’s had little to no weight gain. It’s a nice drug for delusions, sleep and makes you calm. I like it.
I was on 15 mg originally but it was too much for me, slept like 16 hours and felt dumbed down like an animal. I’m now on 7.5mg sleep 12 hours and don’t feel dumbed down.
I have been on Zyprexa since 2005. I am on 20mg a day. I also take more as needed. 30mg is high. In an emergency I can take that dose. When I took 25mg everyday I got a twitch in my eye. My appetite never went up. My metabolism went down. My weight has leveled off. I eat the same as I have always done. If your appetite goes up you might get real fat. Try to exercise. Before I discovered caffeine I slept 12 to 14hrs a day. Plus a 3hr nap. Now I don’t take naps. I take a cholesterol pill which brought it back to normal. This is considered the 2nd most effective drug. I would agree with that. For me it is the most effective drug.
I don’t know what dose I was on, but when I was on Zyprexa I craved sugar and I slept a lot. I gained about sixty pounds in 120 days, but I was starting from a pretty famished physique when I did that. It made me mildly depressed. I hear that it is bad to cause diabetes. It took care of my symptoms, though.
