It looks like my doc doesn’t want to keep me on haldol or change me to a different first gen (which bothers me)
I can’t go without two antipsychotics really so i’ll keep switching to Abilify Maintena/Aristada but i might want to ask for Latuda or Geodon.
I’m looking at the latter mostly because it has weight loss potential…
What are you’re thoughts?

Please remember to eat 500 kcal x 2 with geodon to make it work. My experience with Geodon is that it makes food taste like ■■■■ and decreases your appetite. I lost 40 pounds body fat when I got on it 20 years ago. For personal reasons I went of Geodon one year ago. I can’t tollerate activating drugs so I’m never again going on any geodon like drugs.
If you’re thinking in terms of weight loss, think latuda and geodon. Abilify is also good but I don’t think it has a weight loss profile like those two APs.
Yes well i’m on invega sustenna and i want another injectable, so i’m switching to abilify/aristada.
I’m going to add geodon or latuda ontop of it because just one wont help me as much as i would like.

Wise decision I’m on two antipsychotics as well (500 mgs clopixol every 3 week and 800 mg seroquel Ir by mouth)
And yes I find that two different antipsychotics at the same time work better than one.
I also think that your choice is advangerous because you include a LAI.

So, she changed her mind, she’s ok with giving me haldol as injection.
But she needs to put me on olanzapine by mouth too to prevent relapse, the next appointment is on july 27th…

The good Hal and Clopix are some of the best depot you can get. And Olanzapine is one of the best sec. gen. antipsychotics you can get coz my mother is on 35 mgs and thats the only one that has worked for her.

Without context I feel like there’s a better medications then hdol.
Strangely I lost like 30kg on latuda but continued to gain on geodon.
I got esophageal dysmotility on geodon and yeah I think it was impacting my hunger hormones negatively
I might actually stick with this, haldol and olanzapine as she now recommends. I’m scared of relapsing, i’m already hearing voices again and i’m scared it will be worse than last time… total apocalyptic delusions, terrifying.
I might also ask for lorazepam as a prn and get off of daily clonazepam as it doesn’t work for me anymore.
Oh, good news, i’m going on methadone tomorrow!

Puttre just keep on taking your meds and your methadone. And never give up on the methadone because drug addiction is an illness as well as alcoholism.
We both have dual diagnosis. You see I abused alcohol in my youth and quit my alcohol addicion 20 years ago.

I think i just need 15mg of olanzapine and 20mg of haldol but in LAI form, both are somewhat quite low dose which is a good thing, there is room to increase in case i relapse over the years.
Oh and 2mg of lorazepam as PRN just in case, it’s just as good for me as 1mg of clonazepam but with more sedation which is again good for physical anxiety.
