Negative symptoms in the morning

I now believe I have the negative symptoms (severe apathy) first thing in the morning. I get enough sleep but every morning I do not want to get out of bed. Now I am sleeping 12 hours on the weekends when I have nothing to get up for.
I don’t think I feel sleepy now. I just have an attitude.
People tell me just to accept this, but it really bothers me.

Try drinking coffee that seems to help me get out of bed, it’s also proven to help with negative effects of schizophrenia. I think because it’s a stimulant.

Thank you. I do drink coffee but maybe I should drink more.

sounds like me when I was depressed…try to find hope brother…even in the little things at first …take a walk…buy some flowers…something like that…

I would suggest drinking less coffee or cutting it out completely. It made my mornings hell.

Yes, it could be due to depression. It is waking up and then the first hour or two in the morning. Thanks for the suggestions. I see my doctor in 3 days.

I have morning depression.

Same here, I stay in bed all day and have to force myself to get out of bed. I have yet to find a stable solution but I believe Coffee and looking for incentive helps in most cases for me.

I met with my doctor and he said in addition to apathy or depression, there could be other factors. He mentioned catching up on sleep from the week, and the fact that weekends have less structure. We discussed my activities on the weekends.
Today is Wednesday and I feel fine.
