Need to lose weight-but how?

At 119 kgs(262 lbs) when I’m 5-11.5 I most definitely need to lose weight . The thing is how? I know the traditional way is to count calories , but I find that difficult. I get obsessed about having precisely the right calorie amount for each item of food and drink I have.

Then there is the issue of clothing if I lose weight . Like I’ve got it into my head that I’ll be having to buy lots of pairs of trousers and underwear etc if I was to go from my current weight down to 76kgs(168lbs approx) which is in the ideal weight range. I’d have to keep on buying new clothes as I lose weight?!

I get quite anxious thinking about it all .

I had my depot nurse do a blood test today and mini health check. Blood sugar and blood pressure was ok , but my waist circumference was 126 cMs(roughly 49.5 inches) !

Easier than calories is cutting size of portions. I use a serving spoon. Instead of two or three spoons I take one. It has helped me lose 34 pounds. That is with NO exercise. I’ll lose more when I can go walking again in spring.

I need to lose 20kgs that I gained with risperidone. Now I am on different antipsychotics and I have not big appetite, I guess I already lose weight

Years ago I lost 20 lbs just by cutting my portions into 1/3.

Do be anorexic like me, but the best thing for you to do is to restrict eating and exercise like crazy.

I have found being on meds like Latuda, Haldol and Amisulpride has allowed me to lose 15 kilos in the last three years. That’s all I changed was my drug.

my weight fluctuates quite a bit, when I lose weight I just pull the trousers in tighter with my belt…it works…I have about 5 to 7 inches of trousers pulled in by my belt!

I’ll tell you how I do it. I eat protein (meat or fish), vegetables, fruits, but no carbs. No bread, no pasta, no rice and no potatoes. I must recognize that sometimes I eat a pizza for example. But only sometimes, not every day.

I too need to lose weight. I got a letter today from my last visit at the hospital. I’m now diabetic. I tried more focus on vegetables, lesser carbohydrates, a handful nuts, berry, more lean protein, restricting the bread and on top of that just eating three times a day instead of six to seven times. I can not even stand this for a day anymore. I get delusional if I change something about my food. I also have a fat liver.

I think that without any help I can not make a change on my own. I need a real doctors advice :weary:.

And I have too thought about the clothing problem.

I was overweight, and lost 60 pounds

by not sitting

doing a cleaning job

doing 12 minute calisthenics a day

and eating jalapeno mustard with pretzels every day

I find counting calories difficult too. It’s so exhausting and energy consuming. I need to lose weight too if I can.

How long have you been on this diet? It just seems like it might be difficult to sustain.

I eat this way since I was little.

I think I may have been slightly manic

but I maintained this lifestyle for 2 years

Take a piss or a ■■■■ and for a few minutes you’d have lost weight. Sorry I otherwise can’t help you there. I’m over 300 lbs myself.

Yes some excersize(even alittle bit) is generally better then none. I can’t wait for good weather to start so i can get on a better excersize routine.
I read somewhere that ap’s mess with your insulin resistance so i am taking a supplement for just that.
