I have a passport luckily. But to fly out of my state to another state, if I didn’t have a passport - I need a REAL ID.
Scheduled an appointment for the DMV but I don’t think I will get a new Real ID drivers license in time to fly.

My passport expires next month. I won’t order a new one until I make plans to travel out of the EU. They cost 90€ or something.
I used it for the last time when I went to London in March. That was its last journey.
Do you travel inter-EU with just your country’s official ID card?
Very expensive!
I looked it up. Here it’s 90€ (100$) and it takes 2 weeks.
So you can perfectly order one after making a booking.
You can also do a superfast procedure. Then it only takes 4 hours to get it but that costs 330€.
Yes. Within the EU you can travel with a national ID card.
In Belgium it’s even a requirement to always carry that national ID on you,
I always forget my ID/drivers license. But it’s only an issue if pulled over while driving - and would be a large fine. $250 in my state.
That is very fast for getting a passport.
I need to get my REAL ID too.
Maybe go down to the DMV today instead of waiting for an appointment.
I tried a couple weeks ago and it was a hectic zoo. I had no idea which line to get into. Had to get out.
Go and stand in line before it opens so you’re one of the first ones in. It sucks standing in line but it ain’t going to kill you. You only have to do it less than one time a year so maybe you can grin and bear it and then you won’t have to do it again for a year or two… The different windows are marked. There should be one that says “drivers license”.
oh i did this earlier in the year. easy if it ain’t busy. had to go twice with support.
