So after 11 years of marriage he finally told me he hates it when I call him “honey”. I’m so used to calling him that. In his defense I usually call him that when I am angry about something. He’s like Pavlov’s dogs. So what should I call him? I don’t know. 
That’s kinda funny. Call him by his first name. I had a girlfriend who kept calling me “baby” and I hated it too.

I know. But I feel like it’s so formal…he doesn’t like any kind of word that is similar.

If you want is Freudian my mom called my dad that term while I grew up. I just thought it was common for a wife and husband to call each other that.
