Hello all,
I tried L-theanine for daytime supression of anxiety and intrusive thoughts and i think it did ok, you have to take about 1.5-2.5 grams per day to get the effects. I also tried taking it at night for better sleep, not so sure about how this has affected my sleep as I also have a CPAP to provide pressurized air at night.
Now, from research 2-3 years ago, I am trying NAC, N-Acetylcysteine, which is supposed to balance out glutamate levels as well and work with the glutamate transporters, antiporters, etc. Again, you have to take 2-3 grams for effective relief in things such as intrusive thoughts, delusions of persecution, etc.
What are you all finding out (Those who are taking either or) with these supplements? Do you like them? What are some side effects? Do you feel that they have changed your life to where you feel different when you don’t take them? I am asking because I am trying very hard, just like you all are, to find a “cure” for the disease. Latuda, Lithium, Zoloft, NAC, Theanine, and multivitamins seem to be a good path so far. Thank you for your assistance, and I hope you all get well soon. Take care.
