Thumbs down for NAC. Suicidal ideation. Lower functioning

I’ve thrown my NAC in the bin. I’ve been taking it for 1-2 weeks. My functioning has gotten worse. I’m starting to have suicidal ideation. I’ve gotten worse in general.

I have a weak suspicion that it interacts with abilify but I can’t prove that obviously.

It might work out for someone else though. I think @labratmat swears by it for instance.

Just felt that I needed to give abilify users a heads up.

Out of curiosity, what dosage were you taking?

I guess it only works for some people. It works for me, but then I’m off my meds so it has no meds to interact with in me.

Please be careful on recommending supplements. It’s easy to read on the internet that this or that works or doesn’t. Rarely do such things go through double blind studies.

Please provide links or such when recommending supplements so at least we can get a handle on what is going on.

It’s important to provide protection for members here and just because you read things on the internet doesn’t make things scientifically viable nor does it make it something that works for all.

Medications are hit or miss. Why should supplements be anything but if even that? Please provide current publications or articles.
