Apparently there’s good research behind it that it helps. I tried it and it just made me very foggy headed. I think there may have been a slight interaction with abilify. Maybe.

I think @TheBest has also tried NAC.

I take NAC once a day. 600mg in the morning. I think it is lovely, especially mixed with a meditation session. I find it calming and soothing and makes me fresh headed.

@everhopeful Perhaps, you dived in at the deep end taking 1200mg straight away? and given the copious levels of l theanine you take wouldn’t it be difficult to ascertain any other supplement effect? It is just a guess that perhaps over supplementation is going to be difficult to gauge on high levels of l theanine.

NAC is a wonder supplement for me. That combined with learning about my delusions helped get rid of my psychosis. Also I’m on psych meds as well.

I take a product caled ProFrontal which is sarcosine + NAC and it helps me a lot, it has nearly miraculously cured me of my negative symptoms. I am not sure which ingredient is responsible or both, I did try NAC by itself years ago and it didn’t help me and made me ill, I’m not sure what is going on there because it doesn’t do that anymore!

Hi, how did you learn about your delusions? Did you get help from someone specially trained? My son has delusions so strongly held that he insists no one and nothing will help. And he is extremely depressed. It’s heartbreaking. He’s been lIke this for 5 years…

My delusions were about religion and I just read a bunch of books about it.

Anyone using n acetyl cysteine? (NAC) for schizophrenia. Thanks!
