The majority of the upper level of my new house is hardwood floors.
The master bedroom, second bedroom, main hallway, living room and dining room are all wood floors. The kitchen and bathroom have tiles.
So, after the bad spot in master bedroom is repaired, my sister has said she will help me with stripping and then resealing the floors. Going to be a fairly major project since like 80 percent of the main floor is wood.
Going to have to rent the big sander machine and then I will buy a small one for the edges. Also will need masks, a mop for applying the finish, a good vacuum, broom, etc.
Hopefully it will turn a tedious task into something a little more enjoyable with sis’s help.
Some of the other projects I have laid out for the house include :
- Fixing the shower surround as there is a crack. Water could get in wall if not repaired.
- Water heater replacement
- Putting dirt around house to prevent water penetration in basement
- Cutting down and killing a baby tree that has started growing near foundation
- Fixing Large garage door and “man” door on garage
- Removing and hauling away old shed.
- Venting bathroom out attic. Currently it is vented to attic but not out. Which is pretty dumb to vent all your moisture up there to damage attic and contents.
- Repairing fencing and gate.
- Attic door replacement.
- Fix power to garage
- Bad spot in master bedroom
- Deal with trim on side of house
- Remove any lead paint from windows
- Replace screen door on back of house
- Fix or completely replace front porch.
- Clean out rust in bottom of furnace so it is not circulating through house
This is not a complete list but just the stuff I have in the forefront of my mind and what I could think of off the top of my head.
Its going to be a busy summer.
