We put it together a couple of weeks ago and used it last weekend and this weekend. I’ve been manning the grill and my sister has been handling the kitchen. It’s been fun and yummy. I’m not all that into meat, but if you put it on a BBQ all of a sudden I like it a lot. I don’t know why, it just tastes better. So far we’ve done hamburgers and kabobs. We are talking about doing it every Saturday. Heck yea!
Hey @Leaf . I’m guessing you are talking about a propane grill? I’ve always had a hell of a time getting food cooked properly with charcoal the times I’ve tried it. Propane is the way to go IMO.
actually, we are using a charcoal grill. But I’m glad you are enjoying your propane grill.
Hey. Yeah, charcoal has a good, unique taste. I just have always had a hell of a time getting it hot enough myself. If you are good at it, I’m sure it’s great. Maybe I just sucked at it .
Steaks next?

Do you have a chimney for firing up the coal?
I did not, no. We only have the propane grill now, so I can’t really try it, but thanks for the tip . I’m a bit of a novice.
I, uh, have a problem when it comes to owning kitchen appliances.
Indoor and outdoor.
I’m a novice too really, but grew up around charcoal. In my life I may have run a charcoal grill 10 times on my own, but have seen it done 100 times. I’ve manned a propane bbq about 5 times. I just don’t feel comfortable with the gas. Although propane is more civilized. There is something about the flavor with charcoal…
Charcoal tastes better but takes longer and costs more than propane. I have both. I have a griddle with an air fryer as well. It’s propane and electric.
We have a small hibachi style charcoal grill that we love to take out on picnics. It’s very close to this model:
Wonderful for doing kabobs.
I like the cut of your jib, sir.
