My real name is

I’ve been given my father’s name as per tradition… So not only did I get a first name , I also got my dads first name as my Middlename , his middle name as a second middlename and my grandfathers name as a third middle name… I need to remove his and grandads name its just too long a process having to enter their details on forms.

I also have three middle names. I don’t mention them usually on forms.

Its on the passport though, I need to get rid of them. I just feel embarrased because I don’t need male names as my middle names.

I legally changed my name as an adult. It’s not hard to do. Maybe get a lawyer to help you?

It’s common with certain cultures to take on the fathers name as the middle name.
Even with females.

I have 2 middle names. I don’t list them all on forms. Our social Security office lets you drop middle names if you choose. On New York I only need what’s listed on my social Security card.

Now, in North Carolina I had to have my entire name, until I got married. They make married women list their maiden name as the middle name. That caused a lot of gried when I moved.

My middle name is my grandfathers name. Sometimes I use it, sometimes I just use my middle initial and sometimes I don’t use it at all.

My licence and Visa both use my middle initial, but not the whole name.

If you want an alias use two names each name that could be a first name or last name, it throws the police off.

My first name is usually a first name but is also a last name. My last name is usually a last name but is also a first name.

My first and last name are the same except the last three letters.

I got my first name, George, from my father. I got my middle name, Tom, from my uncle. I went by the name “Tom” all my life so they could keep my father and me straight. Tom is the name I grew up with, and it is the name I want to keep. It is just basic decency to call a person by the name they want to be called.

I dislike that I am named after my dad. When a person checks on the internet for any registered sex offenders living in the area, that name comes up. I’m not sure if it also indicates the age but we do live at the same address right now. That thought really bothers me. I do have a middle name so I make sure to use it on all my mail and legal i.e. social security paperwork.

My father’s first name is also the start of his last name, like Anders Andersson or Jørgen Jørgensson.
It’s hilarious to see people’s reactions when they realise.

I have my mothers’s maiden name and my family name, along with my first name.

Edit: my mother also had two last names when she met my dad, so if they had given me her other one, I’d be in the same situation as my dad

Like John Johnson? But with a female first name, of course.

I have come across people having the place of birth in their name too as tradition.
