My pdoc wants me to see a neurologist

Because of my recent lactation incident a couple of weeks ago, my psychiatrist lowered my Risperdal dose down a bit but she also recommended that I go make an appointment to go see a neurologist

She wants to rule out a benign tumor(s) on my pituitary gland.

I highly doubt that I have a tumor or else my prolactin levels would be a lot higher than my current near normal levels

But I may go see a neurologist just for the heck of it.

I would love to have an MRI done on my brain

My guess is you don’t have a tumor but it’s always good to rule things out

You make me laugh @anon83704208
No I made an appointment with an Endocrinologist instead.
They can diagnose and treat pituitary issues and diabetes which I have and low testosterone

I’ve got a lot of hormonal issues going on

Thank you @jukebox @DrZen and @LilyoftheValley

That’s a little drastic don’t you think @anon83704208?!?

After all she was just covering her bases that’s all

Lactation can be caused by higher prolactin levels caused by a drug like risperidone or by pituitary tumors.

She is being cautious

I have a puffy endocrine gland. It’s similar to a benign tumour but not exactly the same. I have a thyroid disease as a result. I hope you don’t have a pituitary tumour. It’s very tiring. :frowning:

Thinking of you.

Oh I’m sorry @whirling-leaves
And thank you

I’m also seeing an Endocrinologist because I have thyroid nodules

Good luck with the endocrinologist.

I once went to a neurologist and he did a lumbar punction and had an MRI done.

The MRI was useful as at the time I was convinced I had a brain chip and the fact that they couldn’t see anything put my mind at ease.

I decided to cancel my endocrinologist appointment

There’s not much she’ll be able to do

I’ve reversed my diabetes and I’m not about to supplement with testosterone injections as it can make me manic.

Yeah the way I see it, the less doctors I have the less complicated my life will be

Don’t you have thyroid nodules that need attention?

I’ve had them for years
They aren’t problematic

I hope you have no underlying conditions. But seeing a neurologist is an interesting experience. It will either educate you or validate you. Either way it’s interesting.
