i waited for two hrs to receive a call from my pdoc and then i get told that shes leaving my appt over for thr registrar tomorrow…ok i can live with that but its constantly the case that she dismisses me…she says im treatment resistant and says theres no real point for me to change meds…she says ive been on them all, and still not getting better
she said she will not let me change meds for about 2 months, as she says i need to try different things in order to get some level of wellness and meds aint working…shes a waste of time in my opinion
what am i to do with a pdoc who sees me as treatment resistant
ive been on clozapine but it caused low white blood cells…and according to my pdoc ive been on all the AP’s to some degree or another over the past ten yrs
im paranoid sz, and positives are pretty bad such as command hallucinations to humiliate myself in public
negatives, i have poverty of thought and this undermines me scoially, i feel i cant talk to people as theres little or nothing going on in my mind…my pdoc says this is a negative symptom of sz, being withdrawn
i cant change my pdoc as im in the public health system in ireland and the system here means if youre getting it for free, you have to put up with whoever you get
@anon67051439…how did your appt go with your pdoc yesterday…i took note of the fact you siad that abilify is good for negatives…does it help with poverty of thought\\\/?
Start instituting your own treatment plan like I did. I was treatment resistant too and I overcame it by instituting my own treatment plan made up of:
Sleep hygiene: getting enough sleep every night. Taking sleep meds if necessary. Turning off the alarm if necessary.
Exercise: engaging in exercise of your choice at least 5 days a week.
Creative pursuits: engage in some form of creative activity of your choice several days a week.
Prayer or meditation: this is a daily essential.
Cooking: learn to cook. You just can’t get the same nutrients from fast food , restaurant or convenience foods that you can from well made, home cooked meals. And good nutrition is essential to heal sz/sza.
Reading: it not only expands your mind, it is relaxing.
Education: undertake to learn something new. Whether it be as ambitious as going back to uni or learning to crochet, it’s good to exercise your brain.
Personal hygiene: I personally shower at least once a week, every week. I wash my hair once a week with that shower. I brush my teeth every day. And I floss weekly. My dentist says I’m doing a good job. Hygiene is important.
Cultural events: attend events in your area: jazz, classical, pop, rock concerts, plays, operas, ballets, dance, art galleries, museums. And anything else that might interest you.
