I started asenapine (Saphris) 3 weeks ago. I’m calmer. I’ve been to the store successfully. I’m still paranoid but it’s like I’ve got a bandaid on the paranoia. The only problem is that I feel a little too drugged. But I’m hoping I adjust to it.
well cool…hope the drugged effect tapers away…glad you’re calmer.
Thanks @jukebox .
That sounds like a big improvement. And it’s only been 3 weeks. Fingers crossed it gets even better.
Thanks @everhopeful
This is wonderful news @LilyoftheValley!
I’m sure that you will adjust
Is this the only AP you are on?
Yes @Wave . It’s the only AP I’m on.
Sounds promising!
I slept too much on saphris. It was unmanageable and it made me angry to sleep so much. The sleep was nice though, really nice. Zyprexa made me sleep but not that much.
I’m enjoying my sleep on it @Jinx. It had been a very long time since I had gotten a good night’s sleep. But for me it’s not excessive. The only downside is my husband says I’m snoring. He snores too though so we’re even.
Zmgal that really sounds so good how you are improving on Saphris. I find that sleeping to much is much better than sleeping to little or insomnia. I woke up more well rested than ever for years after having slept for 12 hours strait. So 900 mg Seroquel suits ne perfectly well.
I’m sure saphris will be your silver bullet.
I was worried that it won’t work for you…
It’s good @LilyoftheValley.
That’s wonderful.
How beautiful to sleep properly.
I have insomnia so I know what that’s like not sleeping.
I’m glad things are going so well.
Hope the grogginess gets better.
Thanks @Truemist8
Saphris sounds like a interesting drug to replace the sedative action of zyprexa.
I will ask my doc about it, but I think it might not be available in Norway. Pharmacy don’t sell it, so I probably can’t get it.
Mr hope its available in Norway(Norge) under the.name Sycrest. It’s approved for bipolar only and on Patent by.Lundbeck. Theire is no generic avalible in Europe as.their is in the US.
I get no hits on sycrest or asenapine at norwegian pharmacies, so it doesen’t look like it. I’ll ask for it and hear what the doc has to say about it though.
It seems I’m wrong then maybe it’s only approved in the EU.
@Mr_Hope Its generic name is asenapine. Maybe they have it under that name? Good luck!
I took Saphris for about three months, I could have sworn that I was on a placebo because it did nothing for me. Glad to hear that you found something that is working for you.
