My medication doesn't work

I have been taking olanzaphine for a while and it stoped working so I switched to risperadol. All medication seems to working in the beginning but then it stops working. my mind fall into chaos again. I don’t know what to do? does anyone have the same problem? I had olanzaphine shot that last for 3 month or something and it worked so well for the first 3 days. I felt so good. I didn’t feel anymore of paranoia. and then it didn’t work after that. I had a restless syndrome also. I had to stop.

Did you consider taking oral olanzapine instead? It could possibly work better. Depot and tablets aren’t exactly the same.

Are you doing everything you can to ensure the viability of the APs?

For example, not drinking alcohol or smoking weed? Cutting down, if not stopping caffeine altogether including soda with caffeine.

Maintaining sleep hygeine, gentle exercise program., eating healthy food and thus maintainng a good gut biome.

Not taking stimulants, perhaps.

Sometimes, meds just don’t work for some people and they are called treatment resistant.

If this happens then you must learn all about schizophrenia. You need to know the common delusions and hallucinations so you can recognise them and thus gain insight that way. Learning to manage all the symptoms and try to live a better life that way.

When 16 mg Risperdone aswell as 35 mg Zyprexa started failing to work against psychosis I went on 300 mg Clopixol every other week and that did Well for my psychosis with 10 mg Zyprexa.
I personalet have experienced that combining a 1. Gen antipsychotics with a 2 gen. Antipsychotics works really Well.
I’ve used Clopixol depot for nearly 30 years and the pills qutiapine together for 12 years.
If Zyprexa or Risperidone have failed then why not try Qutiapine up to the max of 800 mg and if that fails then try to combine with a 1. Gen. And if that fails eventually try Clozapine.
