Did medication not work for you but you eventually find something that did? 4 years ago I was on 40 mg of latuda and no symptoms for 3 years… I started smoking weed and I’ve had psychosis for 2 years even though I quit the weed. I was on 12mg of Invega and 140 mg of latuda. Now I’m on 140 mg of latuda and 8mg of risperidone… what worked for you?
I had a different problem. I was on a med for over a decade when it stopped working. I tried other meds that didn’t work. Now I am on 60mg of Latuda and it works perfectly.
The meds I tried that didn’t work or made things worse:
Abilify, zyprexa, risperidone, invega, Saphris, geodon, seroquel, Latuda, and 2 others that I can’t remember off the top of my head.
Haldol worked okay for a couple years, but then stopped working.
I’m on perphenazine and Rexulti now and they’re working pretty well.
Wait wut ? 161515

I am on clozaril for treatment resistant schizophrenia, the only medication that worked for me
i was found treatment resistant sz too… but eventually they put me on a combo of the risperdal consta 50mg depot 2 weekly and 200mg of clozapine per day and that combo works for me.
I was a treatment resistant sza for 33 years. Then my brilliant (according to everyone), pdoc placed me on three AP’s: Risperdal Consta shots, Geodon and Seroquel. That’s what did the trick to finally end my psychosis and stabilize my mood.
I am sooo grateful for modern pharmacology.
Idk if im med resistant… Meds work for me very short term. The episodes come back after a few months and i have to up the dose or change meds conpletely. Right now latuda is mostly working for me
I’m sorry you’re going through that! Hopefully you find something that works for you
My experience personally is that most sec Gen. Antipsychotics stop working after a while. In 1996 I took risperdone that stopped after a year even though I was on 16 mg.!Then I took Zyprexa that stopped working after half a year. Then I finally got on Clopixol depo a 1 Gen. And that has worked ever since.
