Does your psychiatrist want you on the injection?

When I first started Citalopram they said it wasn’t covered by universal healthcare, same for Latuda, I had to wait for these meds to be approved! I have enough issues taking meds as it is if they wanted me to pay for it they can go play in traffic!

I am sorry but the US needs some serious changes to medical costs

Here in the UK our health service has collective bargaining power

If they want into our market then they have to deal with our health service or not have any access at all for their drugs

Damn that’s crazy. Maybe give bill gates a call :moneybag: hope you can still stay medicated.

I found the pill to be more
Balanced/spread out. Better at the end of the month

But it sounds like you preferred the injection

I’m on Abilify generic pills, max dosage and doing fine. I prefer pills above the injection. I’m very disciplined with taking my meds.

Holy cow that’s a lot of money for one single shot of abilify. I would go on pills too.

You should try appealing the decision. There’s usually a set process for it. For example in California you need to appeal to the insurance company. If they deny it again, then there’s a state agency that regulates insurance companies that you can appeal to. The majority of those second appeals are APPROVED.

Dam, I am sorry for you that you have to pay that much for your health. In my country medicines are very cheap, the only thing is that in the US they come earlier.

I buy 10 mgs Abilify pills, 30 tablets for approximately 2 US dollars. Perhaps, the quality is not as good as in the US, but it is cheap here. I don’t know if we have the injection here, but the pills work just fine, so haven’t considered taking the injection.

So, I take 20 mgs of Abilify a day, it costs me 4 dollars a month for the Abilify. There is no insurance, no-one pays for you, though. You got to pay for your health here.

I’m in the U.S.A. If you have good enough coverage then the medical care is adequate. Maybe I’m just lucky but I pay 0 for all my medications including the injection. I’m on 10 medications; not all of them psyche meds. I also pay 0 for seeing my GP and the few specialists I see. The only thing they get me on is dental. I can have all the teeth I want pulled for free but Medicaid only pays for certain crowns and it’s hard to find someone who will do a root canal on Medicaid. I have both Medicaid and Medicare and if I ever go in the hospital again it will pay for that.

UK here. I’m on Invega 150mg injection, free, all dental care, free, all health care, free. All meds, free. And the care and support I have from the NHS is amazing.
