My house is leaking apparently

First I noticed water coming out under the bathroom floor after I showered, so I told my landlord. He inspected and is trying to get his insurance to fix it because the shower was installed incorrectly when he bought it. I’m the first tenant btw. Then during a storm my basement sprung a leak from the sump pump, so now when it rains the sump pump has to work way too hard. So today he had someone over to find the leak for the insurance claim, and apparently this guy spilled 4 gallons of water all over the bathroom floor accidentally. They found out the toilet is leaking too. I’m also starting to find earwigs despite buying a dehumidifier and cleaning regularly.

Glad it’s not my house lol

You have a good point.

Sometimes I super wish I had a place of my own.

My parents are always pushing me to buy a place.

But one of my best friends, and wealthiest friend,

Told me that buying a house is a waking nightmare.

And she had a nice house and tons of money.

I ■■■■■ about how I can’t change little things in my house,

But my dishwasher broke two weeks ago and I was like, “Call the landlord”.

They had to buy a new dishwasher and deduct from rent.

Owning property like that is expensive and difficult.

At the same time you feel like you’re throwing money away on rent.

It’s a tough call.

I hope you get everything taken care of in your house.

Sounds like a lot of work to be done.

Yeah I have been considering getting my own house but stuff like this reminds me I probably could not afford it if something major happened. My partner knows how to fix quite a lot of stuff at his house but it still means shelling out hundreds or thousands at any given point to replace something. And I just rent and the worst this does for me is annoys me when they’re here because my dogs bark lol. Whereas my landlord is having a rage fit with his insurance company over this.
