Find your independence and get your own place mate. Its quite liberating. I bogged off at 16.

I would ask for a cat.
Our cats sometimes bring dead mice in the house. But the mice stay away because of them (I think).

Once you got your independance - you will love it. Expect to be skint for a while tho, until you get on your feet.
