He’s not a good man. He’s uses people. Even his own family. But he is a sweet talker. And I always talk with him. We’ve been broken up for over 6 months . In the past we’d break up and he’d sweet talk his way back in. I don’t ever want him back but I’m such a bleeding heart I’m scared I will. I’m totally happy being alone for the rest of my days. Why am I so easily fooled.

Block him.
If you don’t know he’s calling, it’ll make it easier.
Whenever I broke up with anyone in the past, it was always the first thing I did.
Even if it was over good terms, its just best not to have the option.
I would but he owes me money. I feel trapped.
Maybe I can block calls bit not text?
Is the money worth the risk?
I’d block everything and keep in touch via email.

You have the feeling you have to be nice to him in order for him to do what is suposed to do?
How do you know that the only reason he is calling you is not to find out when you will have more money (for him to ask for?)
You can try to get the money back with out getting messed around again, but if he is a user, then i just dont think it would happen.
You might have to consider the amount you’ve given him already as the cost of ridding yourself of him. kind of like paying for pest control.
I would cut my losses. imho

You said he was manipulative,
He’s going to use that money to get his foot in the door and try to get back in a relationship.
I agree with @jukebox, if its a few hundred dollars you should just let it go.
If its more, maybe file something with a small claims court.
It sounds dramatic, but if you need to be rid of this dude, worth it.

I’ve thought that. I feel like a fool. Maybe you are right. Just give up. Block him. It won’t break me. I’ve made due til now.
