With debt collection calls and texts. It’s like three calls this morning. Sorry but I can’t pay you right now. Maybe November and most likely December I can pay you something.
There are debt counselling services that will help you deal with aggressive creditors. Usually free. Have you looked into this?
Can you block their calls?
Thanks for that idea @shutterbug I’m going to look into it.
Thanks @TheFountainPen I guess I could.
I agree until you have a working strategy to pay them back, putting them on the back burner will help with the stress. Less stress means a more logical solution to the problem will come faster. Good luck to you!
Just answer the phone and say " do not call me about this matter. Communicate with me by US Mail only"
They have to follow that.
Thanks @anon4362788 I didn’t know that.
You’re welcome.
Its probably different here in the uk, but your quite entitled to tell them to sod off at the door here. Even if they drill your locks, so long as you got a bolt on the inside they cannot force entry.
Also lay it on bloody thick that you have an MI.
When I was a student years ago I got myself into a lot of debt. I ended up getting free advice and services and I got what’s called an IVA. They froze all interest on it and I made payments for I believe 4 years and then it was paid off. It’s also not a massive monthly payment either.
