My doctors prescription for negative symptoms

So i saw my psychiatrist today and i told her how ive been suffering from emotional numbness and apathy and all that. Lack of pleasure etc. So she thinks that a small dose of amisulpride on top of my rexulti ap might help. As apparently small therapeutic doses of it can alleviate negative symptoms of sz somewhat. 100 mg a day to start with then possibly 200 mg a day if that doesnt do the trick. Wish me luck. Lets see how this goes. Im not super optimistic about it to be honest haha.

Good luck. I think it’s an option so it’s worth a try. I’ve had some good med changes and bad but I always insisted on looking for better function. If you get that it’s worth it.

Yeah true. I already have good function aside from social anxiety which is a seperate matter i think. And the negs.

To be honest I like your psychiatrist idea, amisulpride is the best ap for negatives. You’re other option could be to augment with an antidepressant. I think negative symptoms are probably closer to melancholic depression in how you would treat. There isn’t a lot of stuff with real evidence. But that said there is definitely stuff out there that works a treat.

Yes Ozzy I agree with you that the negative symptoms sucks as I have got most of them myself. Yes 50 - 200 mg Solian(Amisulpride) is said to aliviate negatives.
I wish you so much luck and happiness on your new meds regime.

Typically, we like to leave inactive threads alone and just start a new thread instead. This is different than how some forums are run, but we do it this way because it frequently upsets users to have old topics revived when they are no longer relevant. It can also be frustrating to the person who revived the thread when they don’t get a reply, because the original poster is no longer active or no longer finds the topic relevant. Feel free to start a new thread on this topic.
