I am a baby boomer, and my dad was part of the World War II generation. I used to look at my dad as a complete failure, but as I got older I realized how much more capable he was than me. He also did a lot for me that maybe I didnā€™t appreciate enough. I donā€™t see your dad as a monster. Maybe he had flaws, but I donā€™t think they were damning flaws. He probably would have gotten a serious fine for killing that eagle, but I donā€™t think they would have put him in jail for long term. Maybe it seems callous for your dad to be systematically killing animals, but a lot of animals get killed every day so we can eat hamburgers at McDonaldā€™s. We donā€™t have to observe the grisly business of killing and butchering these animals. We like to eat our hamburgers without these kinds of thoughts plaguing us. As you get older you will probably become less vindictive towards your dad.
