My brother in law

Is mentally disturbed. He tells people he’s rich and from Boston. He speaks with a fake Boston accent.

He’s from Michigan, is disabled, and very poor.

Every time he gets money, like when his dad was dying and he took out a credit card in his dad’s name, he buys really expensive things and shows them to lots of people.

In reality, he is very poor and has no money. We live in a small house and don’t want him here but he can’t afford to live anywhere else.

Ugh! He’s a jerk and has tried to drug me in the past. He’s trying to live with us again. I’m so frustrated!

My husband won’t let him become homeless even though we showed him a trailer he could buy with his inheritance. It wasn’t good enough for him to keep up his lies. He didn’t buy it. Ugh! I’m so frustrated!

Don’t let him in to your home. Simple as that.

I don’t have more of a voice than my husband

if YOU don’t want your brother in law moving in that should be enough.

This is ridiculous. Your safety and thoughts matter. Let the guy move in and you move out. You’d be better off.

Does your husband know he tried to drug you? If he does that should be enough for your husband to say no to him moving in.

Sorry you have to deal with this.

Yes. He knows. It’s just that he tries to take care of everyone

Have you thought about moving out if your brother in law moves in? Do you have somewhere to go? Maybe if you tell your husband you’re going to move out, he’ll change his mind and say no to him moving in. @LilyoftheValley

I have nowhere to go. I make $700/month. An apartment is $12 to $1300 a month in a 45 minute radius. Plus, I love my husband and don’t want to leave him

Understandable! Well, I hope everything works out good for you. I hope your brother in law doesn’t move in. He sounds sketchy.
