My brain is weak and I have too much medication in it

I’m switching to Abilify. I’m going for it. I have to do it. There’s no way I’m staying on paliperidone, right now I’m on two antipsychotics, 100 mg of invega injection and 10 mg pills of Abilify.

I hope Abilify monotherapy feels like I have less medication in my brain. I’m having alot of trouble thinking, responding.

Im assuming that this invega I have in my arm is the last I’ll ever get. And that my doctor is just going to let it run its course out of my body and brain and I’ll be on abilify pills. Then he will want to give me an injection of abilify 300 mg

I have a lot of crap in my brain. (Brain damage included) Its been through alot. Antipsychotics are just too much to allow my brain to think.

Do you guys think I’ll be alright. After this switch. Like I said I’m going for it. I’m dying on invega. Will I be dying on Abilify too?

I think u will feel a lot less drugged on abilify over invega.

Yes. That’s what I need to hear. That’s why I’m doing this.

I have brain damage too, but not from medds. My doctor uses low doses on me because of this. If the dosage gets too high I can barely think or move. So really i take just enough meds to help a little bit, but if I didn’t have brain damage, the meds would probably work better according to my doctor.

You have brain damage from psychosis? Mines from too much psychosis pretty much. What medication are you on? My doctor wants me on injection because of it maybe. I find the injection hard. Invega is had but injection is hard too. But I feel the same way with medication and brain damage I find it hard to think, and communicate

There is one good thing that seems hopeful. My pharmacist told me Abilify injection can be adjusted to different doses easily. Unlike invega injection which comes in a few tiers. I want to try and take 250 mg injection of abilify. That’s like 8 mg pills. Pretty low, if I can do that I might be better. I just have to convince my sisters and my doctor

I’ve had a lot of concussions and I still sufffer from some of the after-effects. They may never go away. The neurologist has prepared me for this possibility. Antipsychotics just make it harder to function, but a low dose does provide me with some relief, so it’s not a complete loss.

Yes, I have heard too many psychotic episodes can do various levels of damage to the brain. I’m sorry you’re suffering with this @Garbled. It sucks so bad since we rely on our brains so much. Why couldn’t my gallbladder be all screwed up instead, LOL? Would make my situation a lot easier to deal with. Brain diseases and such are for the birds.

How long have you been on invega? It took me 3 years to feel normal again on invega now i love my invega but anyways you need to taper off and i recommend taking abilify pills for awhile to see how it affects you before getting the shot i had a allergic reaction to abilify

I’m on a cocktail of meds, comprising of Risperdal, Depakote, and Lamictal.
Cognitively I’m dull and my memory is shot.

I’d like to lower the Risperdal but my doctor is against it.

I don’t know how to handle the situation

I’ve read anticonvulsants are hard on memory. I felt very forgetful when tegretol was starting to do it’s job.
