Is anyone else experiencing cognitive impairment and brain damage after being put on invega. Granted I had a weak mind from psychosis. And my mind has healed in ways but I am left with some nasty damage. I call it cognitive impairment. I can’t believe my doctor put me on this drug. What a bad choice. If I switch now. I already have damage and switching seems like a bad idea. But if invega continues to damage me. Which it probably will. I don’t have much longer. Can anybody out there relate. Invega seems to have the worst reputation of all the antipsychotics. Doesn’t it. It just ruins people hormones so they can’t have sex and damages your brain. My doctor will just go on thinking that he was just doing his job. Meanwhile his patient is just dying from his bad decision. Any body else On this terrible drug
I am on it but it done wonders for my psychosis. Only had two breakthrough days in a yr.
When we go into psychosis like that we damage our brain. We are experiencing cognitive decline, that is all that is happening. I think the clozapine I was on did some damage, though, because when I switched to invega my memory improved significantly.
It has taken away all my psychosis too. But I think it is damaging. Clozapine was a lot smoother. Didn’t alter the brain so much. I was on it for 10 years. I used to be religious too. Now I can’t have a single religious thought in my mind.
My psychosis started acting upon my religious beliefs so I understand. I can’t think about it now either.
I think I have brain damage from sz mostly, not just meds. My pdoc told me Clozapine isn’t better than my risperidone for negative and cognitive symptoms. I will soon try Vraylar.
I feel so damaged already. Is there any antipsychotic that would be good to switch to if you have severe impairment
I had more energy and less negative symptoms on Abilify.
Prolactin sparing preferably
My prolactin is through the roof on invega.
My prolactin is at 59. It’s like playing with silly putty I can’t stand it
Mine is 400 and something. That of a pregnant woman. Lol
400? You must feel nothing
I take Invega Trinza. It has been helping me to stay stable.
I don’t feel much. But I’m to scared to change and try anything else.
I’m gonna try cabergoline. I want to. I scared though
It interacts with invega
I wanted to try abilify but I got scared.
I can’t believe you’re at 400 that’s awful. Prolactin might slow your brain down and stuff too
They lowered my dose to 1.5 to see if that controls things.
