My Brain is a home for imaginary friends

If I can beat the fact that they are real, will they disappear?

I had imaginary friends until my upper 30s. They pop up every once in a great while hole still. But I don’t engage in conversation with them anymore.

As long as they don’t respond back there is never a good reason to talk to them.

Did they ever stick to topic?

I had an imaginary friend when I was a kid but he didn’t like me and used to pick on me. I also had an imaginary girlfriend but she was seeing other people behind my back.

No one can say for sure. With schizophrenia, I think you might be able to tell they’re not real one day, or except that fact that they’re not real, but in my case, that didn’t stop the hallucinations. I know I have hallucinations. I’ve ‘caught’ them messing with me. I use logic to fight them, but that didn’t get rid of them. Meds were the most effective for lowering their intensity, so I could function well. Everyone is different though.

Yes. I had long, engaging conversations with them
