My best friend is schizo-spec!

I found out this weekend that my best friend, since 2nd grade, is on the schizophrenia spectrum!!! She’s in the process of being diagnosed. My personal, non-professional opinion is that she has schizoaffective bipolar type like me!!! Yay, schizo pals!!!

I’m glad you and your friend can relate to and support each other. But honestly an sz/sza disorder is nothing to celebrate.

I’m not celebrating that she’s sick, I’m celebrating that I have a friend who understands and deals with the same sickness as me, in the sense of supporting each other. That’s different.

I always wondered if that happened to me what advice I’d give them

Yeah my best friend is schizoaffective too.

What if we combined forces we can get a little schizo cult among the four of us

Haha I felt the same way when I found out my really good friend since highschool was also schizoaffective. It explained a lot of our experiences together :joy: let’s just say two people with untreated psychosis, no insight and similar delusional content make for interesting times

My best friend and gf have recently found out that she is sza bipolar type too. (She was formerly diagnosed bipolar.) I also have sza, bipolar type same as her. It is great that we have yet another thing in common and that we share many symptoms and can understand each other.
