Mentally, her bipolar is completely out of control.
Physically, her blood tests were very abnormal, showing problems with the blood itself, her liver, her kidneys and her diabetes is totally out of control even with her insulin.
She has to see a few specialists to figure out what’s going on. Hopefully, she’s not taking after her dad who died young while very ill with multiple illnesses and on dialysis.
Yes. Unfortunately, she believes that if you crave something it means your body needs it, even if it’s junk food. She’s totally convinced of it. As a result, she weighs over 400 pounds (181 kg) and is only 5’ tall (152.4cm).
Very true @TheCanuk . I wish she was willing to lose weight but she’s adamant that if you crave something, it means your body needs it and you should eat it.
She went grocery shopping with me once and was very concerned because I didn’t get sweets. I told her I didn’t need any, and she kept asking if I was sure. I do eat sweets though, so I can’t judge.
I already lost one best friend. We grew up together in the city of Detroit, and ended up in college together. It took 20 years to make peace with losing her.
Thanks @Montezuma . I do think I need to make a couple more friends in hopes of having another friend with whom I’m very close, because she is very unhealthy. I need some friends who have a good chance of being around a long time. I guess I’m being selfish thinking that way but it’s how I’ve been thinking for a while now.
It is a little frustrating when you know someone who doesn’t take care of themselves and they just keep falling further down.
I have a friend who is addicted to really bad hard drugs and it just gets old hearing how he’s smoked meth again. He’s been in and out of the hospital for years and he recently quit a long term treatment program early, and this program has a great reputation in the VA.
