More on hydrocephalus

September is Hydrocephalus awaremenss month

if you take time to read that document, it talks of “cognitive decline” and for me that was misdiagnosed as “schizophrenia”. I’ve always argued that it does feel more like dementia.

as for 'leaving your psychiatrist" , what you do need is a referral to a neurologist or neurosurgeon to determine if you have this condition, it does require an MRI or CT scan. and yes, Sz also can show up as water in your head according to the documentation, but Sz doesn’t have to be water in your head.

Water in my head causes increased pressure which causes neurological sensations like “spiders” (@sasha I like your art about this) crawling on me, tingling, numbness, and delusions and halucinations. this is caused by water expanding in my head and crushing the neurons in my brain.

so, don’t leave your psychiatrist, but do go to your primary care doctor, get a copy of your MRI from your hospital. Look to see if there’s water in there. From there go to a neurologist, who should refer you to a neurosurgeon. And no, your psychiatrist won’t tell you if you have hydrocephalus, not even close. They’ll give you pills without looking at your brain physically.

let’s see who gets mad bout this posting - lol

Sure, there might be a few cases of misdiagnosis but your continual call for people to question their diagnosis is inappropriate for this forum.

you should always question and manage your health very carefully. hydrocephalus can take years to diagnose, did you read the document. read it for me, for September is hydrocephalus awareness month. you can have both

One of the greatest problems with treatment for schizophrenia is people not accepting that they have this illness. It is inappropriate to constantly post suggesting that they do not have it. You don’t have schizophrenia and all of your posts encourage members to question their diagnosis.

how much water do you have in your head? that is the question. not whether or not you have Sz.
