So my phone had to be repaired and I was offline for a little while but finally I got it done and I missed you guys!
Mentally I’m doing well as ever and from a kick start in minimalism I turned to my diet.
Read a book on environment issues and read about our hunter gatherers roots, and I told myself - what should we as a species be eating?? The birds eat berries, seeds and insects, so what about us? Chips, sweets, cookies, cake? No! Real food is what we should be eating. Food that looks natural and is. Fruits veg nuts seeds meat fish eggs . Natural.
Got acquainted with the Paleo diet and also at same time read a book called Grain Brain, which says gluten and grains and carbs and sugar is bad for our brain amongst other organs of body.
The author Dr David Perlmutter spoke a lot of sz and it’s link to gluten sensitivity.
So a few days ago I switched to a grain and gluten free Paleo inspired diet. I even tried meat but it’s just not me - I’m vegetarian at heart.
So I’m a paleotarian! Just that I do eat legumes sometimes, and for protein a lot of eggs! Dairy isn’t Paleo but I sometimes have a little. But basically NO pasta, wheat, and other grains.
After the toxic gluten has gotten out of my system I may reintroduce occasional non gluten grains but for now none whatsoever.
I’m eating coconut porridge in morning instead of sorghum and corn. And it feels good!
Now I am starting a new book, a classic I ordered online last month - Animal Liberation by Peter singer
Looking forward to it!
And I’m cooking new dishes now and eating loads more veggies than before, sometimes even for breakfast!
It’s a good time for me sza wise. I found my meds sweet spot.
Thank you mirtazapine!!!
