What a joke this article is. The person actually writes:
āI think Iām one of many in my generation suffering from āmillennial burnoutā. This is not currently a recognised medical conditionā
Im proud to say Iām a millennial whoās relaxed and doesnāt feel burnt out.
I donāt feel butnout but I feel like I keep consuming time all the time. I worry about what to do in next hour. But I donāt suffer because I think it is a part of living.
Iām gen z so I donāt have millenial issues.
Are you a millenial, @Joker?
Treebeard seems to have an opinion about people speaking negatively about millennials a lotā¦
Yes, I think itās pretty stupid to look down on younger people, thinking your generation was so much better when you were young. Itās also pretty obnoxious. And old grumpy people have been doing it for thousands of years.
I agree. Nothing is worse than old people hating on younger people. And Iām an old person.
Quite a few old people in my country refuse to acknowledge the changes in fashion and lifestyle that young generations have adopted. Why are they so bitter? I donāt get it.
Live and let live, manā¦
That is so funny!!!
Yep, I am 31 years old.
I am not hating on millennials. I find that in fact the person who wrote this seems to be victimising people in this group.
If your job consumes your life and you feel like the writer of that does, then you either get another job, or stop giving out ridiculous deadlines like they admitted to doing that makes the laptop open every night.
If you think having the internet is negative, then donāt use it. I actually like being connected 24/7 so you know whatās going on.
As for life admin, learn how to use a spreadsheet and extract that rubbish from your head and manage it properly. Writing to the BBC and moaning about it is a load of rubbish. Life requires paperwork, and once you move out itās really not that hard to put everything on direct debit. I donāt worry about any of it as the bastards who want money for this and that get it once a month and you donāt have to lift a finger. I have a cupboard with 6 months worth of letters in it and I donāt get upset about it.
Medicalising this as a āconditionā is nuts. This person is just not mature or has too much stress to handle her current life, and this does not apply just to millennials but people across the board. I manage what she does with my diagnosis, so it must be her situation that is the problem, not an entire generation.
I for one think as a millennial we benefit from technology and working in a service based economy. Not so long ago we were more industrial and most people worked in manual labor making things in factories.
I really donāt think itās well understood just how stressful things are for the current young working generation. The burnout is real. Iāve seen it firsthand with my friends many times, and with myself way more times than I can count.
I donāt know how you guys even communicate on some topics while trying to conform to modern standards of political correctness. Iāve had a few jobs recently in which Iāve spoken all day for a living, but it was stressful.
No wonder āoral communicationā is said to be the most sought after skill by employers. Everyone is scared half to death of saying something that can be twisted to sound politically incorrect, having it put on YouTube, and having it held against them for decades.

Very stressful.
Your lucky. Burnout is not fun.
Usually happens when we take on too many things and too high of expectation and not meeting that high expectation furthers it. And unfair comparison to others.
Like if we compare ourself to a high functioning type A personality normie. Thatās just a bit unrealistic when we have mental illness
My pdoc told me to give myself some slack and that Im not lazy just have mental health issues
Iām a 86 millennial and I am burntout but not from work from years of cannabis use in my teens
I look down on lazy people at work. Unfortunately, too many of them are millennials. The following generation, Z, seem to have headed in the opposite direction. The majority Iāve worked with (generally students so far) have excellent work ethics and they either donāt carry phones or they stay firmly tucked away. Me likey.
I think you can find good and bad things about all generations. Judging a whole generation on a single criteria and based on such a limited sample doesnāt seem very rational.
