My fathers wish is for us to own a dog.
We already have a cat but from what I’ve read introducing certain dog breeds to a cat is fine.
It usually works out especially if the dog is young (puppy)
I asked my cousin who owns cats and dogs in her household and she said it’s perfectly fine to own both.
They can learn to live in harmony or close to it.
Going to sit on it for a while and absorb it more.
I am not getting a big dog.
I wouldn’t do it. You’ve had bad luck with dogs. It’s a nice idea but I just wouldn’t do it. I know that’s not what you wanted to hear.

My father is older and it’s basically his last wish.

What kind of bad luck have you had with dogs?
Well in 2016 I became extremely psychotic and delusional, I thought that my father was torturing and drugging my dog so I surrendered my dog over to the animal shelter.
I felt as if I was saving him.
And 2 years ago my Labrador puppy was very sick with a genetic disorder and she cost us thousands of dollars.
We returned her to the pet store and got our money back.
She was later adopted by a nice family
@Wave , I’m so sorry. That really is bad luck. If you get another dog I hope it works out this time. Be sure to take your meds and report symptoms while you’re still have some insight if at all possible

I do have a loving dog. He’s the best dog in the whole world. I love him so much! I couldn’t ever ask for a better dog. Impossible!
