Metformin mightn't be decreasing my appetite any more

Anyway, who said diets were supposed to be easy. Bah humbug.

Stopping cigarettes makes me hungry. I eat sugar free jellos with 10 calories each when that happens.

How’s stopping cigarettes going? Did you go to your group yet?

But as regards metformin, I made the decision to drop to 2100 calories while it was curbing my appetite. So I hope that decision doesn’t backfire…eeek.

From what I eat, 2100 calories sounds so much food, I don’t know how you do it! Was this advised by your dietician?

Stopping cigarettes is going terrible, and the group session is supposed to be tomorrow, I can’t go because I have a dentist appointment that I forgot was on the same day, spent all day trying to call the hospital to reeschedule but noone answered. Might just drop by in the morning if they don’t pick up the phone again tomorrow.

Dietician suggested 2500 to start with, and I lost so much weight we decided to stick with it until I stopped losing weight.

Unfortunately I’ve now stopped losing weight, so I have to keep dropping by 100 until I start again. I thought I got lucky with metformin, appetite wise, but not so sure now.

It’ll be interesting to see how this group thing for smoking works out. Keep us informed!

I will, I’ll reschedule it tomorrow and keep you posted. I’m intrigued now, I was kinda angry at first but now I’m more inclined to do it, kinda sad its on the same day as the dentists appointment, but that I can’t reschedule.

Yeah, if I stop losing weight there’s not much to lower for me actually. My fitness pal says on the end of each day’s calories count this: “If every day were like today… You’d weigh 53.9 kg in 5 weeks”

You realise you can return to your ‘maintenance calories’ once you reach your goal. You said your maintenance calories were around 1600.

You’re actually doing really well though, if you’re losing 1kg a week. I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before you kick cigarettes too, now that you’re putting your mind towards it.

Yeah, my normal weight is 47kg, that’s what I’m trying to reach. 50kg I would be happy enough to be honest.

The problem with cigarettes is that I really don’t want to quit as much as I want to keep on them. Complicated me

I’m going to the ecig store tomorrow ask for more nicotine on the ecig. My mom is quitting on the ecig and it’s going well.

Now we’re talking! Get 20mg Minnii !!! Trust me on this! OR get a sub-ohm ecig. 6mg gives the equivalent hit of 24mg on a sub-ohm ecig. That’s what I use. I.e. 6mg in a sub-ohm. Good luck.

I take metformin for diabetes. I think it helped me to lose a low amount of weight each year. 5 or 10 lbs. For 8 - 10 years Then that pattern lessened…

Yes, it completely decreased my appetite at the beginning, now not so much. I did some research just now, and it’s a definite ‘side effect’.

Yeah. A side effect of gabapentin is feeling of well-being. That’s why I take it.

I lost a lot of weight for the first couple of months on Metformin, then it stopped working this way.

It’s ok, it’s still a good med.
