When I was 17 I got sentenced to 12 months
Got out on appeal after a month
They sent me to do a community rehabilitation
This was in 2004, and to be honest, it helped a lot as I got clean and stopped associating with bad people
I am impressed that in England they were that far ahead back in that time
A lot of places still need to recognise that addiction is an illness to be treated, not punished
And… I have not broken the law since
I’ve never been in jail. I’ve been in the ward, though, and I’ve been court ordered to take APs.

Done a couple of stints in the nick. All silly 6 month sentences (your out in 3).
My only defence was that i was off my rocker for years, late diagnosis - and the fact i never had stable housing, so was forced to associate with scum bags.
Since being properly medicated, ive behaved myself for the past 7 years.
I was prosecuted for biting a policewoman, Whilst full blown psychotic. She dropped charges during the prosecution during which time I became full blown psychotic again. Bad times.
I’ve never been in jail or had a communety treatment sentence. I was just lucky as hell that I kept taking meds and stayed out of troubles the last 30 years.
Been in jail 4 times for at the most a few days. Just your run of the mill misdemeanors because I’m funny like that!
one night in county. was in a holding cell. got let out in the morning. got picked up all the time in my teens. wasn’t bad. associated with all good people but drank and smoked.
haven’t even been pulled over since i think my early 20’s.
Did the court order ultimately help you stay mentally healthier

I spent a long weekend in jail in psychosis for assault. I’ve had alot of psychosis in my life. I even had psychosis in court lol
Never been to jail, ive only been in a cell a few times due to being taken into custody - all because of psychosis

I had to call cops pther night. Was a little scary but I swear ai love cops. They are always so nice to me and understanding of my illness. Never had any problems with cops my while life.

I have only been picked up by police and driven to a hospital.
