Menopauze 151515

Im just 36, but i have heard yesterday in a chat of a woman who got psychosis at 50 and then i read on the internet about women regularly only getting schizophrenia in menopauze, because the protective effects of oestrogen falls away.

Im quite sensitive to hormones…thinks like childbirth, quitting breastfeeding and pms have had major influences on my symptoms. I never track when im supposed to have my period, but i know it a week in advance, because all mood, anxiety and psychotic symptoms are increasing day by day until my period starts - at which exact moment im perfectly fine again.

Im a little terrified of the menopauze thing now…i have no need for more craziness than i already have. Are there any ladies who are older than me here who can tell me what happened to their symptoms around or after menopauze?

I have sza bipolar type and I feel that the mood component to my disorder is less frequent but more serious in some ways. I don’t know about the schizophrenia, I think it’s worse but I handle it better because I have insight now. I had no clue what was happening to me when I was younger.

But I would like to say it seems to me you’re borrowing worry from a long off tomorrow. Are you a worrier? I am and it’s really not good for you. I’m desperately trying to learn how not to worry. I’m not doing very well so far.

I went to GP about menopause and she told me most women sail through menopause
I have reached menopause but don’t feel much different I am already on antidepressants

I’ve never heard that about estrogen and schizophrenia. Do you have a link to the article?

In re: symptoms menopause. I have had surgical menopause - I no longer have a uterus or ovaries. My symptoms started 2 years before I had my uterus removed and 5 years before my ovaries removed. My estrogen levels were off a long time for me, but actually they were sometimes high and sometimes low. I was getting hot flashes all the time. I guess since I didn’t have problems until I was 31 I might be proof of problems being worsened or appearing due to low estrogen. That’s why I’m interested in reading the article.

This is the article I have bookmarked about menopause and sz -

I came out of remission when I hit perimenopause, so I’ve already researched this topic.
