I knew when I saw that headline.… (But I couldn’t find a suitable emoticon. Sigh.)
Why would a man want a lazy wife?
Just waiting on the fireworks on that one.
You hit the nail on the head! Not to mention the fact that people evolve, so just because a person is a certain way when they marry, it doesn’t mean they’ll be the same in five or ten years!
I’m surprised so many schizos detest the opposite sex and sex in general, even self identifying as asexual. In my opinion, this is an unhealthy attitude brought on from “schizophrenia” and most likely the meds as well. Upbringing in a strict Christian household may be a factor as well. Sometimes it is easier to delude yourself into hating what you don’t/can’t have.
Far more for paranoid fear of intimacy leading to abuse and/or abandonment, actually. (Have seen this so many times in psychotic pts I can’t ignore it.)
Any suggestions on how to get over the fear of intimacy?

I think Christianity can set a person up for being a sexual failure for a number of reasons. The virtues to strive for in Christianity have nothing to do with social dominant characteristics that would attract a mate, like being competitive, physically strong and attractive (higher obesity rates in Christian populations), being brave, and getting what you want.
In Christianity people are judged solely it seems on how “well behaved” they are. So for instance a 60 year old lady would thrive in this kind of system, but it is not exactly an appropriate system for young people trying to find a mate and survive in today’s world. And what kind of fruits when it comes to psychological and physical health/pleasure does the “well behaved” lifestyle of a 60 year old woman who is a “devout Christian” going to provide young people these days? Basically the only carnal pleasure they can derive is from eating food, so some of them are obese. These are the observations of a pagan guy I know. I think it makes a lot of sense.
Maybe it’s because I’m sick and tired of your twisted and insulting generalizations about men. How would you feel if I started slagging seniors non-stop? Nothing like driving a fuel truck loaded with 16800L of flammable/explosive stuff and getting cut off by a grey hair who is obviously well past their ‘best before’ date in terms of driving ability. Which happened today, BTW. Good thing I’ve been trained to anticipate hazards or there would have been a helluva fireball on the highway.

Yet Christianity is the most popular religion. According to biology, nice guys finish first. Have you ever heard of the “tit for tat” strategy? It is the best strategy for social game theory ( that I’m aware of at least). If someone treats you good , treat them good, if someone treats you bad, treat them bad. But if they all of a sudden treat you good, treat them good and forgive them until they screw you again. That’s what I understand at least. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can chip in.
@Daimon and @astefano I don’t think the sort of person you’re talking about exists (or at least exists commonly) in nature. I live in the deep south “bible belt”. People are people, beliefs are just what parts of themselves they choose to at least look like they’re repressing. I count atheism as a religion for practical reasons on this one as well as agnostic.
I’m talking about the Ned Flanders brand of Christianity from the 80’s. It is really lame and someone raised under such a system could easily turn out to be a sexual failure later in life.
How can you make this statement? I’d think that the “bad boys” that take what they want and have the nice guys raise their offspring for them would be the winners according to biology. At least most of the women I know are more attracted to the “bad boy” types! They want to create a child with a bad boy then have a nice guy take care of them and raise it!
Just think about some of the most famous “bad boys” of all time! One in 200 of all males (0.5%) are descendants of Ghengis Khan! He conquered, pillaged and f*cked whoever he wanted!
Or it could be that most people are sexual failures and most people happen to be Christian too. Correlation instead of causation.
So you’re basing your ideas off a cartoon?
Game theory.

Lmfao that one was funny
For instance, if the person was sexually repressed from dating by their parents until much later in life, for some people this could create psychological problems and make them inept at dating. What I am saying should be common sense, come on people.
