Memory Issues

I know what it means. People with aphantasia ,as I have, are prone to poor autobiographical memory.

Alright, sorry for explaining it to you. I just meant to point out that this is more general than just autobiographical memory.

That’s ok even the experts haven’t arrived at a consensus.

I’m sensing some aggression here… Sorry if I offended you. I should have made the point to the OP directly, without quoting your post and explaining the difference to you.

No aggression . All is fine. Just posting what I found. . Might be an ASD thing on my part .

I find that my memory is affected across the board. Except for deeper, long term memories and anything that my brain deems important enough to be a new addition to the long term sector.

It is very similar to dementia. I worked in memory care while a CNA and nursing school. My pdoc told me that some memory loss in sz/sza is permanent, but no one can tell what or how much until it happens. Bipolar causes intermittent memory issues, it always comes back.

I have the bipolar type of sza. The memory problems were enough that my primary physician said if the pdoc didn’t think it was due to sza we’d do an MRI to rule out early onset dementia. Sometimes I still worry about that. It’s bad enough that I can’t work, though I am trying to do some writing per day now

Apparently, I have false memories. That is unnerving for me!

I got memory problems. Can’t remember much after 2011 either. So much DP/DR.

I also remember stuff that happened in other lives. I guess that’s a delusion, false memory or w/e.

All my memory systems have been affected. My working memory suffers, autobiographical memory suffers, etc.

I have enhanced, superior memory in what may be called psychic memory or something. Stuff that helps me understand reality and my history. Associated with so called enlightenment. Divine gift or curse or w/e.

That is unnerving, @Jayster. How did you find out that some of your memories are false?

A memory test https://memtrax.com/test/

Another memory test.

So very much average.

I dont remember anything from my childhood

A false memory I have is going to my private school years after I actually left until the headmaster angrily told me to leave. I can reality test this enough to see that in crude terms it’s a load of baloney but still from time to time it resurfaces and I am thinking 'could this be true? ’

I took the second one and got a 29, which is within the average range. I guessed on some of the images. I wasn’t sure about more than two on each round, but it’s nice that my score was average.

Some things I remember, if they happened the way I remember them, then the world is a much different place that commonly believed. It makes me think I’m nuts.

Jayster

I got above average, but I’m having a good brain day. Just feeling irritable lately. Much of the time I can’t remember things.
