Anyone else have memory problems?

I can process information. After a few hours I forget. But my memory is not the greatest. I have trouble with visual memory. It is difficult for me to vizualize; things, objects, and people. I can memorize words from my coursework if it is straight forward. If it is complex, wordy, or has difficult vocabulary too many new words,it becomes taxing and difficult to memorize. Just thought I would share this. Anyone else have these problems?

Majorly. Short term memory loss causing the most problems. Disoriented not knowing what I was thinking. Loosing track of what I am doing in the middle of doing it.

I forget what I was going to do before I do it. The days passing burr into just a day.

I do have memory issues. For a couple years I took fish oil and I noticed a really huge difference in my working memory, the type of memory you are talking about. I wouldn’t be able to hold 2 numbers in my head. now I can hold like 8 numbers in my head. And I’ve even stopped taking the fish oil for a couple months now. But I am getting back in the habit of taking it because I’m starting to notice a decline in memory again.

I really recommend fish oil as a cheap and effective way to boost memory, mood and cognition.

I have memory problems.
Most of my memory issues stem from my legal drug use.

Lamictal is a big cause.

Yes, it’s really difficult for me to retain information and remember things from the past. It sucks!

I have some memory issues. Like I can’t remember a tv show after I just watched it. I had a car accident in 2017, which resulted in brain atrophy. So, I think this is why I have memory problems.

Welcome to the forum @BasketballHoops1!

My memory is awful. I forget things constantly. I am really good at remembering spacial information like the layout of a room though. But I forget important things like taking my meds, which days I work and what time therapy is. It’s strange.

My memory is fukked. If I think of something to do later, I won’t remember it when it is time to do that thing.

One pdoc told me psychosis can cause memory and concentration problems.

I have memory issues due to the multiple cocussions ive had.

A few tips on things that confuse newbies:

Cake day is the anniversary date of when you joined.

The 1515 or other numbers at the end of peoples posts are because there’s a 15 character minimum to post. So people put 15s after until they get to the minimum characters to post.

Yes I’ve partially lost the ability to memorize. They say you need to understand stuff in order to remember it better. Even when I understand what I read or hear, I still forget most of it. Blunted affect could be a cause, because we remember anything that has a strong emotional impact, and that is no longer possible. Luckily my affect isn’t totally flat, just blunted.
