How many schizophrenics have u met out of hospital?

I’ve lived with a few other schizophrenics, I’ve worked with a few, I have had a few friends who were schizophrenic. They were way nicer than any non-schizophrenic friend I’ve ever had. Probably because we had all been through the trenches of psychosis, hospitals, medication etc. before and we knew what it was like to be a survivor.

I have a friend with schizophrenia. We met outside of hospital. In a support group.

Met one for coffee. Nice lass. Just an internet meetup off the old chat site…no other overtones but she was a nice girl.

five, two male, three female, the female ones were yelling at foot and motor traffic. the men took their meds apparently.
I know of One, drug addict, haven’t seen or heard from her in months. She let herself go and started getting with some real bad guys. No clue where she is now. Sometimes I think about messaging her and trying to help her get her head on straight like the good old days, but then I don’t. Cause I don’t like getting involved.

Ive met many out of the (hospital). But not many out of clinical settings. Like I met some in IOP and at the group home, and at the house for the mentally ill and places like that. Ive met a few others but I cant really remember significant instances. Obviously didn’t amount to much of a relationship. I’d say for a most part theyre nice unless their delusions get away of them being nice.
I met a few schizophrenics in the support groups, very good people. I saw others in the day treatment, another one is my mother and one was a friend of my father who was always talking about suicide…
