who here uses zyprexa and what your thoughts about it is it really helping?
I don’t ever mention the drawback of a sudden antipsychotics but only the positives about that. I had Zyprexa long ago and that really helped my harm OCD. later on I got some issues that made them stop the medication. My mother was started on Zyprexa 3 years ago and she’s really feeling Great on the med.
I used to be on Zyprexa. I did not like it and was always trying to come off it. Working was stressing me out. But everyones experience will be different.
It takes care of the symptoms for me at 5mg, but there are side effect drawbacks like flat effect, losing motivation, gaining weight and if you are really unlucky you get dependent on them for sleep and then it can be very difficult if you ever want to get off them. But I guess all AP’s have their minuses.
I take 22.5 mg of zyprexa. It works where other aps did not. I used to take 5 mg, but that is another story. It us hard to lose weight on zyprexa, but not impossible. It helps me sleep and it. eliminates voices and delusions
I agree with you Smith Zyprexs is really helping my mothers illness when nothing worked.
It’s been really good for me. I am as low as you can go these days as I’m older so 7.5mgs. Always worked well for me and I’ve actually lost weight on it. I gained on risperdal. and I wish I’d never read all the stories about it on the old site before I got on it. I was resistant to the idea but it’s a good med for me.
I’m on olanzapine and it significantly reduces my paranoia.
I was on Zyprexa and it gave me terrible dystonia, twisting of the limbs very painful.
I’m on 10 mg a day (given once monthly in a depot injection / 300 mg).
I’m having far less moodswings on Zyprexa and it made me able to quit drinking.
I still have some sadness left, but it’s bearable, just a kind of mild, blue melancholia.
